Organisations network and reach out to 843 children from Jackson’s Drift
All 843 children were blessed with so many helping hands reaching out to them this Mandela Day.
THIS Mandela Day various organisations were involved in reaching out to the less fortunate in the Jackson’s Drift Informal Settlement.
The Bokang Mosia Foundation spent most of the day spoiling and feeding 843 children from Jackson’s Drift and in partnership with Rene Parker from Child Reach, the team brought smiles and laughter to so many faces.
Bokang Mosia came dressed as a Mondeor scout representative and brought a host of volunteers who all put their hands to the plough. Together they provided a good plate of food and fruit for the children, handed out boxes of toys and warm clothes like scarves and beanies, and invited the children from the Aspen Hills Nature Estate to enjoy the afternoon playing soccer with the children from Jackson’s Drift.
Dario Gouveia from Meyersdal, his mom Zita Gouveia, and the team also joined in to donate shoes to the community on behalf of Sole2Sole.
“We were blessed to give each of the 843 children shoes. Some children were lucky enough to receive two pairs. A huge thank you to all their volunteers who so kindly fitted the children with shoes.
