Bassonia make-up artist makes a name for herself in Bollywood


Morag Steyn stamps her authority on the international scene with another big hit in Bollywood.

INTERNATIONALLY accredited South African celebrity make-up artist, Morag Steyn continues to shine with the incredible work ethic she now offers in Dubai.

Formally from Bassonia, Morag has featured in our publications before she relocated to Dubai.

Morag continues to make the South proud but this time in Bollywood by doing make-up for the lead Indian actress Zareen Khan in a horror movie called 1921, which is estimated to be released on 2 000 screens worldwide.

It is directed and produced by Vikram Bhatt and comes a decade after the release of its first instalment, which already received overwhelmingly positive responses from viewers across the globe.

Morag relocated to India in May 2017, making it big there by working with Bollywood artists like Kamal Hassan on Bigg Boss India, Atif Aslam, Ananya Birla, Neha Kakkar and Zareen Khan. She did not stop there but went on to leave her footprint in fashion magazines like Vogue and Femina and she has now kick-started her year by being based in Dubai since January 2018.

Morag has acquired extensive knowledge and experience in the makeup artistry, beauty and fashion dominion. With a career of more than a decade, Morag has built up an immaculate reputable reputation awarding her to be internationally accredited, as well as being established as one of the top 10 makeup artists on the African continent.

With a list of loyal A-list clients, not only is she now on an international level and working with some of the best in the business but she has also left her mark here in South Africa. She has had the opportunity to work with the most elite in the industry, with the likes of Minnie Dlamini, Roxy Burger, Cindy Nell-Roberts, Jeannie D, Ursula Chikane, Nicole da Silva, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Maps Maponyane and Atif Aslam to name a few.

She has also worked with top influential fashion designers from Africa and Bollywood such as Liz Ogumbo-Regisford and Vikram Phadis. Apart from the celebrities, the talented make-up artist has worked with television shows including Top Billing and Expresso and was also behind the special effects make-up artistry of the award-winning film Alison.
