The purpose of the festive parade was to kick-start Mall of the South’s extended festive trading hours from December 8 to 23 from 9am to 8pm on Mondays to Saturdays and 9am to 5pm on Sundays.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) band entertained all of the mall’s visitors and tenants with their harmonic festive sounds and comical festive characters got up to all sorts of tricks and added to the festive cheer.

The Edu-Care Foundation is back to conveniently wrap your gifts, for a small donation and don’t miss out on getting your photo with Santa at the Platinum Court near Entrance 5.

Shoppers and tenants enjoyed switching on the Christmas lights in a little ceremony initiated by Ward 23 Clr Sarah Wissler who reminded shoppers and tenants that the festive season is not only about receiving presents but it’s about the special people in your life who give you gifts. This could be family, friends, your partner or anyone you consider to be special to you. Take the time to be grateful for all those people.

Mall of the South receives lost and found items on a daily basis. The items that have not been redeemed after three months are donated to charity. These unclaimed items were donated to the Disaster Management Centre which will be used when there is a disaster in Johannesburg.

Mall of the South sends special gratitude to the following teams and people: Provincial Head: corporate communication South African Police Service Brig Peters, Capt Murathi and the South African Police band, Col Janet Madaray from Mondeor Police Station, Sup Makgobi, Sgt Rabekane of JMPD, Ward 23 Clr Sarah Wissler, Capt Dube of Kibler Park Fire Station and her wonderful team of EMS and fire-fighters, Mall of the South centre manager Hester Smith, D&D Tactical, Quatro Holdings Security, GANSRA – Kim Kotze and Adele Spear, Liefde and Vrede community members – Pravesh Singh and Raj Naidoo, staff, tenants and shoppers.
